1. Summary
Rapid Deployment Services for Storage
Implementation are part of a new family of ConsultingEdge services. Rapid
Deployment Services are fixed scope and fixed price services that are designed to fill the current gap
between basic installation and custom scoped ConsultingEdge services (like storage
consolidation, data protection, backup, and so on). RDS for SAN and
RDS for NAS are offered as two different services for SAN and NAS
configurations. The official names of these services are:
Rapid Deployment Services (RDS) for Storage
Implementation NAS
Rapid Deployment Services (RDS) for Storage Implementation SAN
Internal NetApp documents and eConfigurator may still contain legacy references
to Silver and Gold tiers:
Silver = Storage Implementation NAS
Gold” = Storage Implementation SAN
These turnkey solutions come with complete design and configuration of a storage
system for business usage and storage of mission-critical data; they provide
end-to-end storage implementation solutions for NAS or SAN environments. Fixed-scope
enables sales to set expectations up front with customers about service deliverables.
Also, improved accuracy on delivery results in less downtime as well as
quicker service deployment (fewer repeat visits).
2.
What’s New
Fixed-price and fixed-scope
service use the new service brief sales process, so no custom SOW is required.
A service brief is sufficient to define the scope and to list customer
deliverables.
Both RDS for SAN and RDS for NAS
services are offered in four tiers, depending on the amount of storage being
implemented, as described in the following table.

Any amount of storage (The price of the service varies depending on
the amount of storage to be installed.)
